Job Description:
Manages, configures and maintains the library's electronic resources, on and off campus, including electronic databases, internet resources, the library web site, remote patron authentication software and system (proxy), Open URL link resolving software, and other applications. Develops, implements, enhances and assesses integrated library system and web OPAC, including upgrades and updates, in collaboration with the LMS Administrator. Assists in evaluation, selection, and promotion of electronic resources and systems. Configures and administers software to support interlibrary loan operations. Serves as liaison with Computer Services staff. Responsible for technical support of library electronic equipment: PC workstations, printers, scanners, fax machines, electronic classroom management system equipment, etc. Troubleshoots and performs maintenance as necessary. Serves as technical liaison to library vendors. Participates in exploration and evolution of the Genesee Information Commons. Monitors technical trends and promotes library staff knowledge about new information technologies, including equipment, software, and electronic resources, in collaboration with the Reference Services Librarian. Collaborates with and provides technical support for Reference Services Librarian, Instructional Services Librarian and also trains and supports library staff in use of electronic resources. Provides input to budget preparation, maintains and generates reports and statistics, assists in long range planning, policy and procedure development and provides input to staff evaluation as appropriate to supervisory relationships.
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited program is required. Post-MLS experience in an academic library, experience with management of integrated library systems, (Ex Libris Aleph preferred), electronic resources, web site design, and maintenance of computer hardware is preferred. Familiarity with remote patron authentication (proxy) and interlibrary loan software is desirable.

This is a 200 day faculty rank position and is an integral member of the library service team with responsibility for managing electronic resources, including an integrated library system, technical support, training and web site management, and providing leadership in investigating and implementing new information technologies.
